Cambridge Art Tours was started in 2012 by Sarah Burles, art historian and museum educator. Sarah studied History of Art at Cambridge University, before completing a masters degree at the University of London in museum and gallery education. She worked in museums and galleries for over 25 years, including at the Fitzwilliam Museum for 12 years. More recently she has led tours for Art Fund and Art Society groups and run adult education courses. She also works as a Tour Director for ACE Cultural Tours and is an accredited lecturer for the Arts Society.
Sarah's passion is to make art accessible and enjoyable to a wide audience and her tours and courses aim to be engaging, as well as intellectually stimulating. They often take a thematic approach and explore a small number of objects in depth. "Sarah was the most superb guide, bringing every single piece of artwork to life and giving such insight into the history and background to each artefact and painting. I could have stayed for hours.” |
